LA-based screenwriter and story nerd.
I started my career in television news, got a break from filmmaker Michael Moore and moved into factual TV and documentary, and then listened to that little voice inside that kept saying ‘Be a writer,’ and ended up at the National Film and Television School outside of London. Since then I’ve worked in film, TV and online series, as well as providing scripted content for brand agencies. I’ve taught first-year screenwriting at the University for the Creative Arts in Surrey, UK and have run Writing for Multi-Media Platforms modules at the NFTS. Thanks to my lively Puerto Rican family’s decision to raise us in the suburbs of New York City and my life as a Yankee in London, I enjoy writing stories about outsiders and the unlikely friendships and situations that bring us to our true selves. However, I think it’s important to smile and to laugh, even while suffering through life’s challenging moments, so I tend to tell these stories with warmth and humor. Or, wait - is it humour? Yeah, so, after 15 years in London, weary of deliberating whether it’s humor or humour, I ditched my crown as Britain’s third Puerto Rican emigre (I was never going to compare to UK-based Puerto Rican beauty queen Wilnelia Merced anyhow) and moved from London to Los Angeles. I was a participant in the 2018 Athena Writers Lab, a Finalist for the 2022 DGE Writing Program and recently graduated from the 2022 NHMC Series Script Writers Program. You can watch my TV romance CALLING FOR LOVE on Amazon Prime in the UK and the USA. My recent TV romance, THE ENGAGEMENT BACK-UP, premiered on UpTV in June 2022 and is streaming now on Amazon Prime.
